Our Endocrinology and Diabetology Department offers treatment for:

  • Thyroid disease; including thyroid over-activity, under-activity, thyroid nodules and cancer
  • Diabetes; including newer therapies
  • Weight management disorders; including obesity as well as medical management in relation to weight loss surgery
  • Endo-gynaecology; including Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia and the menopause
  • Hormonal imbalances during pregnancy, such as gestational diabetes and thyroid dysfunction
  • Osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases
  • Vitamin D deficiency and osteomalacia
  • High and low calcium disorders
  • Electrolyte disturbances, such as low sodium and potassium
  • Disorders of the pituitary; for example, hormonal imbalances relating to the secretion of prolactin, cortisol or growth hormone
  • Disorders of the adrenal glands, such as adrenal gland nodules
  • Neuro-endocrine tumours
  • Monitoring of late effects of ‘cancer survivors’
  • Lipid disorders
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
